چکیده

The thin water film stabilized by disjoining pressure is non-negligible in tight formations which results significant difference multiphase flow behavior compared with that conventional formations. In this work, a pore network model proposed to simulate two phase highlight the contribution of on flow. newly developed includes influence fluid configuration, capillary entry pressure, conductance and connectivity during space. Our approach first validated existing then two-phase investigated extensively. show connate saturation increases its associated oil relative permeability decreases as average radius decreases. It also suggests water-wet systems, both phases becomes when smaller than 100 nm. Existence will increase proportion corner water, resulting an increasement slight decline porous media dominated angular pores throats; while circular shaped throats, are enhanced due better caused film; at same time swelling lower residue higher end point permeability. We found has more irregular pores.

Sensitivity Analysis of the Effect of Pore Structure and Geometry on Petrophysical and Electrical Properties of Tight Media: Random Network Modeling

Several methodologies published in the literature can be used to construct realistic pore networks for simple rocks, whereas in complex pore geometry formations, as formed in tight reservoirs, such a construction still remains a challenge. A basic understanding of pore structure and topology is essential to overcome the challenges associated with the pore scale modeling of tight porous media. A...

Influence of Road Surface Microtexture on Thin Water Film Traction

This paper deals with the contribution of road surface microtexture to the relationship between tire/road friction and water depth. The main objectives are the estimation of local water depths trapped at the tire/road interface and the definition of a critical water depth which can be used for driver assistance and information systems. Tests are performed in laboratory. Specimens are slabs made...

Extracting Pore Throat Size and Relative Permeability from Mri Based Capillary Pressure Curves

Capillary pressure (Pc) curves acquired using the Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) technique, call GIT-CAP, have 70-100 data points. This extra data, when compared with traditional porous plate or centrifuge techniques, allows for the interpretation of more information from the Pc curve. In particular, the pore throat size and relative permeability can be extracted. The pore throat size can be ...

SPE 89981 Predicting the Impact of Non-Newtonian Rheology on Relative Permeability Using Pore-Scale Modeling

Introduction Copyright 2004, Society of Petroleum Engineers Inc. There are many aspects of hydrocarbon production processes where understanding the flow of non-Newtonian fluids in porous media is of great interest. These include well drilling and construction, reservoir stimulation and production. In particular, complex polymeric solutions have been used for water-control purposes or to enhanc...
